DALF France French Exam

The DALF or Diplôme approfondi de langue française

Dalf is the advanced language diploma and for the more advanced users of the language.
It has two exams under it that correspond to the levels C1 & C2, of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.
French C1 level is required by some master’s and doctorate programs.
French C2 level is the highest level of proficiency in the French language.
Obtaining a C2 diploma usually requires at least a few years of immersive learning as well, meaning that someone with a C2 level has likely already attended a French degree course in a university or worked in French jobs for so long.

Language users at level C1 are independent. They can express themselves fluently and spontaneously. They have a rich and wide range of vocabulary and can use the appropriate expression to introduce their comments. Listening Comprehension questionnaires dealing with recordings: - a long recording (interview, lesson, conference...) approximately eight minutes long (played twice) - several short radio broadcasts (newsflashes, surveys, adverts, etc) (played once). Reading Comprehension questionnaires dealing with a text of ideas (literary or journalistic), 1,500 to 2,000 words long.	0 h 50	/ 25
Writing Two-part test: - Summarise several written documents totaling approximately 1,000 words - write an essay with supporting arguments on the contents of the documents Candidate can choose between two fields: humanities and social studies, science	2 h 30	/ 25
Speaking A presentation based on a series of written documents, followed by a discussion with the examiners. Candidates can choose between two fields: humanities and social studies, science	0 h 30 preparation: 1 h	/ 25
